About FlyCafe
FlyCafe was founded by a dart frog hobbyist who got tired of inconsistent cultures from commercial suppliers. We started small-batch breeding our own strains and never looked back.
Today we ship wingless D. melanogaster and flightless D. hydei cultures nationwide, along with bulk fruit fly media and vivarium supplies — everything a serious keeper needs.

FlyCafe started because we couldn't find fruit fly cultures that met our own standards for the dart frog room. Commercial suppliers ship from warehouses — cultures that have been sitting, declining, and losing nutritional value before they ever reach your animals.
We developed our own small-batch Ultimate Fruit Fly Media formula — mold-resistant, calcium-fortified, and packed with high-protein brewer's yeast — and started shipping cultures at peak production. The response from the hobby community was immediate.
Today FlyCafe ships to dart frog keepers, mantis enthusiasts, spider hobbyists, and exotic pet owners across the continental US. We're still a small operation, and we intend to keep it that way — quality over volume, every time.

Every live culture order is backed by our Live Arrival Guarantee. If your fruit fly cultures arrive dead or non-productive, contact us immediately and we will make it right — no hassle, no runaround.
- Email us the same day delivery is confirmed with a photo
- Include your order number and keep the original packaging
- During extreme heat or cold, ship to an office address or request "Hold For Pick-Up"

Returns & Refunds
Because we ship live perishable cultures, all live culture sales are final once shipped. We do not accept returns on opened media products.
We will replace or refund:
- DOA cultures covered under the Live Arrival Guarantee
- Incorrect items shipped due to our packing error
- Unopened dry goods returned within 14 days in original condition
- Orders confirmed lost by USPS

Does FlyCafe offer a live arrival guarantee?
Yes. FlyCafe guarantees live arrival on all fruit fly cultures. If your order arrives dead or non-productive due to transit conditions, contact us within 24 hours with photo documentation and we will send a replacement or issue a refund.
What species of fruit flies does FlyCafe sell?
FlyCafe sells wingless Drosophila melanogaster (~1/16 inch, ideal for thumbnail dart frogs and spiderlings) and flightless Drosophila hydei (~1/8 inch, ideal for medium and large dart frogs, praying mantis, and small reptiles). Both are available in single 32oz cultures and multi-packs.
